Sustainability, what is Wood’d take on the subject?

Sustainabilty according to Wood'd: a new challenge

Sustainability, chapter zero.

As a creative team of curious minds, we’re very sensitive people. Full scheduled days of briefings and research, in which we keep asking ourselves what are the directions we should take in different fields. This is why one of the toughest challenges is to evolve our identity, according to our values and the times we live in!

Like in every other creative environment, we always keep an eye on macro-trends. Hoping to find what will enable us to make Wood’d a long lasting project, creating a sustainable system over time. And here is the key: sustainability!

A word and a challenge that has intrigued and frightened us at the same time, full of meaning and expectations for the future. This post would like to get rid of the weight of this word and mark our approach to the matter as creative heads, design lovers and, last but not least, producers.Sustainability in Wood'd: how to make long lasting products

We are the third generation of a wood-working family, and we are still madly in love with it. And in terms of sustainability, which are the wood’s characteristics we love the most?

As simple as this, wood is renewable: once collected, it can grow again without human hands. It is sustainable, because its life cycle has no CO2 emissions. It is ductile, because its use has no creative limits and can be used in any industry!

We have always strongly believed that re-use was one most creative forms of sustainability! How? Just look at our packaging! An elegant wooden box that can be used as a stander for your desk.

These are just two tiny points from which we start tackling the topic. And, like everything that deserves attention, the more we dig into it, the more it gets interesting. We have in mind at least a million paths to take to be more and more sustainable. From the traceability of wood we use to create our product, to the reduction of water consumption in production, and step by step we will try to implement them all.

What about you?
