Anna Viganò takes you to the Verano. For real.
“Ciao Anna! Why don’t you translate into music your idea of wood, craftsmanship and acoustics?” “Of course!”. A woman, finally, is putting some gasoline into the Wood’d Vibes tank, our weekly music installment, curated by different artists every time. Anna Viganò, also known as Verano, is taking the lead today. She knows everything about indie rock music. We fell in love with her music since the first time we saw her in concert a while ago in Milano. Anna, we are glad to have you here, please feel free to make us rocking!
Ciao Anna, tell us a bit…who are you?
Anna, stage name Verano, a lifetime in Milano, a mind always travelling.
How did you start to get involved with music?
I was really young, around 7 years old. I didn’t grow up in a family with a huge music heritage, but I once watched a movie about Ritchie Valens, the one who made “La Bamba” and rock’n’roll famous. And I loved the idea of playing concerts, and this is now what I love the most about music.
What are the main influences on your sound?
There are so many. I would say first St Vincent, but also some different artists such as Iron & Wine, Calexico, Beach House.
What are you currently listening to?
Right now I can’t stop listening to Andy Shauf and Frank Ocean.
Where you draw your main inspirations for this mix?
The “woody” aspect of music has always been part of my listening habits. I had a thought about it and selected some of my favorite and inspirational tunes. These songs are one of those for which is worth staying in your car even after you’ve reached the destination, to wait until they’re over.
